John Deere has officially debuted the new MICHELIN® X® TWEEL® TURF Airless Radial Tire for 2018 R Series QuikTrak ™ mowers, and it is also available for purchase as a standalone part.

There are several benefits that come with the Michelin X TWEEL TURF Airless Radial Tire. This product can increase uptime for operators, ultimately improving their bottom lines. The tire is also maintenance-free, and it completely eliminates the possibility of flats.

"Since first launching in 2014, the MICHELIN X TWEEL TURF Airless Radial Tire has been extremely popular with our customers, providing a solution that helps them to reduce downtime due to tire maintenance," said Carl Agee, product manager with John Deere. "By expanding this technology to our QuikTrak line, we are now able to offer our stand-on mower customers increased uptime by eliminating flats."

Because no air is required, operators no longer have to spend time checking and maintaining tire pressure. The Michelin X TWEEL TURF Airless Radial Tire also provides a more consistent height of cut without fluctuating tire pressure. The manufacturer claims that the Michelin X TWEEL TURF Airless Radial Tire lasts two to three times longer than a pneumatic tire.

Customers will be able to purchase the Michelin X TWEEL TURF Airless Radial Tire for QuikTrak stand-on mowers from their local John Deere dealer starting in 2018.
