The annual John Deere Classic will be played this year at TPC Deere Run for the 20th consecutive time. The Par 71 course first hosted the John Deere Classic shortly after it opened back in 2000.

D.A. Weibring, who helped design the course, says that he has heard nothing but positive feedback from the players who participate at Deere Run. The course has remained relatively unchanged, with the exception of the addition of a back tee on the sixth hole.

Weibring notes that the final five holes of the 18-hole course have unique, individual designs, which have helped produce drama during the tournament over the years.

“We are very proud that TPC Deere Run has proven to be the kind of high-quality golf course that has consistently identified champions who are among the elite in their profession,” said John Deere Classic tournament director Clair Peterson. “Over the first 20 years at Deere Run, our winners have included major champions Zach Johnson, Jordan Spieth, and Vijay Singh as well as other multiple Tour winners, such as Steve Stricker, Bryson DeChambeau, Sean O’Hair, Jonathan Byrd, Ryan Moore, Brian Harman and Kenny Perry.”

Michael Kim, who won last year’s tournament, will be back this year to defend his title. He will be joined by a host of other PGA Tour regulars, but one of the headlines of this year’s event is the lineup of young talent that will be teeing it up. The first round of this year’s John Deere Classic will begin around 7 a.m. on Thursday, July 11. The event is set to conclude on Sunday, July 14.
